Nine players/prospects from the Nashville Predators organization are participating in this year's IIHF World Championship Tournament (May 7-22, Germany), including four players from the NHL roster and five prospects.
The Preds have two goaltenders in the tournament, Pekka Rinne for Finland and prospect Anders Lindback for Sweden. Defensemen Denis Grebeshkov (Russia) and Alexander Sulzer (Germany) are participating along with prosects Robert Dietrich (Germany) and Roman Josi (Switzerland). Among Preds forwards, Marcel Goc is serving as captain for Team Germany, while prospects Jonas Anderson (Sweden) and Antti Pihlstrom (Finland) are also playing in the tournament. Further Preds GM David Poile will serve as Asst. GM for Team USA's entry into the World Championship Tournament.
